Strengthening Medical Device Cybersecurity Across the Healthcare Ecosystem
Advances in digital health technologies promise to improve patient care, experience and outcomes. However, with innovation comes risks. Connected medical devices expand the attack surface for bad actors and require hospitals and healthcare delivery organizations to implement new strategies to ensure patient safety and protect patient data.
UL and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) partnered under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) to study medical device cybersecurity risks and understand how to facilitate trust between vendors and healthcare professionals.
UL and VA have decided to publish the results of this effort and provide the wider healthcare community with our findings.
